Tāmaki Response puts Tāmaki whānau and tamariki at the centre of social services. We take a collaborative approach to designing services that will provide the best social outcomes for the Tāmaki community.
We are focused on improving the system as a whole, and we work with government, local NGOs, experts and the Tāmaki community to ensure social services are holistic, evidence-based, and create positive long-term results for whānau.
Through the Tāmaki Response, Tāmaki whanau can help shape how social and health services are designed and delivered in the community – and help to ensure that these services work for local people.
Priorities for Tāmaki Response
- a Tāmaki-wide education strategy
- jobs and skills pathways focused on specific groups
- early years support for young families
- mental health and wellbeing
- intensive support services to help families with high needs.
Tāmaki Response is located at a co-design hub in Panmure. The organisations involved include Ministry of Social Development, Oranga Tamariki, New Zealand Police, Ministry of Justice, the Auckland District Health Board and the Ministry of Education.
These solutions will be co-designed with community members, relevant agencies and local organisations to increase the impact of social services in Tāmaki
